RACE UP DATE 10/1 2022
Hello Adventure Racers ! We have
a good turnout of racers and the
weather is finally turning nice and
fall like, trees are changing colors.
Its a good time of year to Adventure
Race !
That being said , we have some
important items to go over here.
ALL RACERS NEED TO BRING A
LONG SLEEVE SHIRT FOR A
GAME WE WILL BE PLAYING TO START
THE RACE. While most of this event
is serious endurance racing, we like to
start things off with a simple game.
Make sure you go down on this page
and have your WAIVER printer out and
signed with your USARA number on
the waiver. The link is below. If
you are not a United States Adventure
Racing Associated member then you can
still click on the USARA link below and
sign up for the ONE day membership.
There is a 8$ fee and make sure you
date that for October 15th. Then print
it out with your membership number and
print out and sign the waiver and bring
it on race day for us
THIS IS A USARA RACE AND WE CAN
NOT LET YOU RACE UNLESS YOU HAVE
A MEMBERSHIP NUMBER AND SIGNED
WAIVER. We had people show up last
year without doing the membership or
wavier and it was difficult to try and sort
that all out when we are handing out
race info. Thank You for taking care
of this in advance so we can then
have the volunteers hand out the race info.
CANOES AND KAYAKS
RENTING CANOES
For those of you who are renting
canoes, your canoes will be waiting
for you at Rice lake. You will have
rental paddles and rental pfds'
Just make sure you bring exact change
of 30$ for the rental or a check made
out to Andy McCarthy Thank You
BRINGING YOUR OWN CANOE/KAYAK
For those of you who are racing solo,
you will be bringing your own kayak.
we are NOT renting kayaks.
For those of you who are bringing
their own kayaks or canoes, YOU
WILL BE DROPPING YOUR BOAT
OFF BEFORE YOU COME TO THE RACE
START LOCATION.
CANOE DROP IS THE RICE LAKE PICNIC
AREA. Rice lake is near the town of
Whitewater WI. Address is:
N7971 State Park Road Whitewater
WI 53190
We will have a BOAT DROP sign near
the picnic shelter there and you will
be dropping your canoe/kayak and
your paddles and pfds at the picnic
area before coming to race start.
I would put your paddles, pfds and
any food or water you want UNDER
your canoe or kayak.
I will have a cable there if you would
like to lock your canoe/kayak to it. We
can not always guarantee that a volunteer
will be watching, so its up to
you to accept responsibility if you want
to lock your boats. Thank You
THERE IS NO WATER AT RICE
LAKE, SO EVEN IF YOUR RENTING
A CANOE, YOU MAY WANT TO DROP
SOME OFF AT THE PICNIC AREA
BEFORE YOU COME TO RACE START
There are bathrooms however.
You will have to bring enough food
and water to last your event.
RACE START is the Nordic Shelter
N 9084 Co Road H
Whitewater WI 53190
PACKET PICK UP TIMES
are listed below for both
8 hour and 4 hour teams

need a Mt Bike pass. Info for that is
below. Please take care of both
the vehicle sticker and Mt bike pass

Race Up Date
NEW THIS YEAR, your team can save money
and bring their own canoes and or kayaks
or you can rent canoes only.
No racing canoes or kayak designs, just
recreational and touring canoes and kayaks.
If you bring your own canoe, please do
not put 4 in a canoe instead bring two canoes.
If you are putting 3 racers in a canoe,
bring a third seat and practice this on the water,
it can be unstable. If you are bringing your
own canoe and or kayak ,please bring a
lock for the boat and cable. We will not always
have a volunteer watching, so your gear
is your liability. If you are bringing your own
gear and renting a canoe, pleae bring your
paddles and pfds to race start. If you are
renting a canoe, please go to the
registration page , you will pick how many
canoes your team will want to rent and
your team will bring 30$ per canoe in either
cash or check made out to Andy McCarthy .
Bring cash or check to race start.
We will NOT have kayak rentals this year,
just canoes.
However you may bring your own kayak.
Rental canoes include paddles and pfds.
A good example is this;
3 person teams could be a combination of 2
in a canoe and 1 in a
kayak or all 3 in one canoe.
You could also have all 3 in their own
seperate kayaks, as long as your team stays
together. Just remember we are renting
canoes but NOT kayaks
However it is your choice if you want
to rent a canoe or bring your own.
Or if you want to bring your own kayak
Thank You
IMPORTANT !
Remember to bring your signed
waiver with your USARA number on it.
Make sure your vehicle has a state park
sticker. More info below

Make sure you are wearing a Bright top.
Red, orange, or bright green is best. Also
look over the Gear list.
If your team does not have state of WI trail
pass for the Mt. biking, we will have
them at the race meeting. Trail pass is 5$.
Because you will be parking your
